Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker joined abortion industry leaders Friday to celebrate the opening of a new call center that will encourage women to travel to Illinois to abort their unborn babies.
Instead of addressing the underlying reasons why women seek abortions, including financial struggles, abuse, fear, social pressure and a lack of family support, the call center will help Planned Parenthood and the Hope Clinic for Women, an abortion facility in Granite City, sell more abortions.
St. Louis Public Radio reports the purpose of the new call center, located in the Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Fairview Heights, is to reach abortion-minded women in Missouri, Texas and other pro-life states.
Callers will be offered help arranging travel to an abortion facility and money for the abortion, travel costs, overnight lodging, childcare and meals, said Yamelsie Rodríguez, president of Reproductive Health Services of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region.

I mentor a young male, about 23. When we started talking a year ago, he called himself an atheist. Now he calls himself an agnostic. He’s as liberal as they come (out of public school), but I’m his “go to” when he has a spiritual question or when he needs some counseling. It’s clear to me movement is happening, slowly.
He called last week and wanted to understand abortion and why people think it’s wrong. He had started the call feeling frustrated with a coworker with whom he had argued.
I explained to him what a soul is, where it comes from, what happens to it when we are in our bodies, and what happens after we die. He didn’t agree (he doesn’t agree with much of what I say, but he feels it is at least logically consistent and he doesn’t feel injured after we speak).
I also explained to him how babies are torn apart in the womb. Babies with fully formed nervous systems. He was horrified. He had no idea. He told me his recent ex girlfriend had gotten pregnant and he would have taken her and paid for her to have an abortion just because they weren’t ready. Not because he was angry. Kids really are that brainwashed to think babies are not babies until birth. By God’s mercy she had a miscarriage. I told him that God gave him an opportunity to change how he approaches future relationships.
I told him about women who have abortions, and the profound emotional and spiritual distress it causes.
After the conversation, particularly about dismembering babies alive, he said he was going to be “more safe” going forward. I advised not getting in bed with someone quickly and if he wouldn’t feel comfortable getting a gal pregnant and having her be the mom, then he may want to rethink the relationship. That these are cues to us that the person isn’t our partner.
He had literally never heard any of this before. Sorry for the long story, just trying to make the point that we take for granted the sacramental nature of Life, whereas many of these young people have never been told anything remotely close.
I used to manage call centers.
This one won’t last a month.
The reason is that even if the agents are die hard pro abortion fanatics...the abuse they are going to take with every single call is going to build up.
Every anti abortion group will set up call chains where they do nothing but bombard the center with calls. In computer systems, this is called a Denial of Service (DDOS.)
Unless someone with very, very deep pockets is running this thing, it will burn out fast.
