If anybody in the semiconductor industry is here this is a question: at market-ticker.org Karl Denninger said a while back that environmental concerns pushed semiconductor manufacturing out of western nations. Is this true? If so the Ohio plant must be state-of-the-art to avoid pollution concerns.
Just one small problem. Manufacturing is just the first stage of the process. The chips will still be sent to Asia to be tested and packaged. Until we have the entire process in America, from start to finish, this will do nothing to shorten the supply chain.
Supposedly we have plans to slag the Taiwan foundries if China tries to assume control.
This seems like an awesome step for bringing things back here.
Doesn’t solve the entire process but is a great first step.
Thanks for the post.
some good news for a change.
Intel is a dying company insofar as leading edge tech is concerned. This is Intel’s dying gasp. Its stock has been flat for the last few years. Taiwan Semiconductor started building its USA chip factory in Phoenix, AZ a couple of years ago for state of the art AMD chips.
A smoke screen and an opportunity to corner the market for pelousi and the rest. How much is the CCP investing in this?
I like to see where the $20 billion goes.
What is costing them that kind of money?
How much is the democrat party skimming?
