Basically, one nurse at ThedaCare-Neenah applied for a job at Ascension and got it. She went back to ThedaCare-Neenah, put in her notice, and told her coworkers how much more money she would be making.
A bunch of her coworkers applied for jobs at Ascension and got hired also.
ThedaCare-Neenah has sought an injunction preventing the nurses from taking the new jobs until their old jobs are filled.
Here’s the kicker: there’s nothing in the injunction that says they have to stay and work their old jobs. Only that they can’t take a new job till they are backfilled by ThedaCare-Neenah.
The hospital can opt to not pay out any PTO balance owed, depending on their employment agreement. Other than that, not much they can do about it.
