Who can say? He wasn’t protected by anyone in the black community because he was critical of black culture for all its single parent families, so maybe he was offered as a sacrifice or something. In contrast, look at Michael Jackson. He was a pedophile. The servants said kids would run around the mansion during the day, drunk on “Jesus juice” as Michael called it. He even admitted he would sleep with them at night and no one did a thing about it. When he was officially charged by one of the kids the whole black community and the Nation of Islam came to his defense, and he got off scott free. So being part of the system matters.

Same thing happened to my mother on a trip to CA in the ‘40s, with a revered doctor who was traveling with the family.

They did a lot of things a normal person wouldn’t do to get movie and tv roles.
But happening to any of us doesn’t make other claims true.

Actually I don’t have a problem calling people “mental”.
The PROBLEM is how it is approached. If someone does something criminal, though they are “ill”, it’s STILL a crime and should be treated as such.
As has been said, many mental patients/retarded people/emotionally disturbed people NEVER do anything bad or criminal.
Let them all be in institutions as needed. If one does something criminal - treat them as criminals.
My theory is that Cosby started saying of a few things about self reliance that were Bucking the democrat line.

I think Cosby should get credit for the “illusion of America’s Dad”. It was a very positive image of a loving father. Whether he was acting or not, he held up an ideal that others could emulate. With the help of screen writers and producers, etc.
That doesn’t excuse him for committing crimes. And while I think he committed the crimes, I doubt any woman who agreed to be alone with him or take the anti-histamines or other drugs he offered is completely blameless. Especially the ones that met him at the Playboy mansion.

You are probably on to something. The Democrats do not forgive. They don’t forget. They just file it away for use when it suits their purpose. And he [Cosby] did say some things that the Democrats were not fond of [I can’t recall them now]. But after that was when his troubles started.
Also sometimes when bad things happen you have no proof.
So what can you say.
You know it happened but can’t prove it. In this case you went away with him willingly. You were flattered. You drank some poison. You lost consciousness. Even on FR we have “conservatives” saying it is your fault for going to a hotel suite and having a drink.
Were I an aspiring actress and had a chance to visit with Cosby or someone big I would have taken it. That doesn’t mean I am down to be raped or even have consensual sex. These men travel. They are in hotel suites. It’s not motel 6 for heaven’s sakes.
But look how some ON FR talk about them. They were just hos who had it coming see? And you wonder why we don’t come forward.

My middle finger in their general direction-
A lot of them spoke up for years. The correct question is, why did it take prosecutors so long to believe them and do something about it?
