The smart ones walked away during the last two years. The remaining ones are likely Flavor-Aid drinkers.
Yeah, that's it right there..
I keep getting calls from the police unions and organizations (?) wanting donations.. I'm NOT giving a dime to cops who behave in such manner as seen in Seattle and other blue cities..
It's my opinion that their job is NOT to do ONLY what their boss tells them to do, but to protect the citizens and enforce the LAW.!
Am I wrong about this.??
I have a friend, who retired from CPD. They tried to keep him, dangled the possibility of a senior promotion, better jobs within the CPD etc…. When they realized he was leaving, they screwed with him over his last couple of years and the Union refused to intervene. He did not get in any trouble, they just assigned him in $hit jobs well below his rank and seniority. According to him the majority of good cops have quietly left or retired. He said the level of incompetence in both street cops and leadership is breath taking. He said in the current environment, the Union will throw a cop under bus rather then fight for him even if he is innocent. There is no incentive for good cops to stick around. Those who do have too much time invested to just leave. They keep their heads down avoid conflict and ride out their time. It is the younger cops or people who should not be cops who drank the Kool-Aid.
My former shipmate was a good cop, extremely well educated and a street smart cop who rode out the last two years. You cannot blame them for hanging on for the retirement and benefits they earned.
