back in the days of the Iran hostage crisis… I hear that. They had sailors from various ships in PI provision her for ‘Gonzo Station’. She was at the end of her 6 month West PAC - heading back to the states. I was one of the ‘lucky ones’ that spend all night loading her up.

We were on Liberty call in Cebu. I was out in the jungle in a hammock with a girl for 2 days drinking San Magoo. They sent Shore Patrol out to round us all up for emergency recall. Such good times. We didn’t get back to Subic for a month.
