Can Los Angeles be Saved?
American Thinker ^ | 01/20/2022 | Patricia Jay

On Monday, off-duty LAPD officer Fernando Arroyos and his girlfriend were out in South L.A. looking at houses, in anticipation of getting married and settling down there. Sure, it was after dark, and most Angelenos do not venture out at night these days, but Fernando was LAPD, highly trained in police work and educated at U.C. Berkeley, and thought he had it all down. Then four gangbangers from the local crime organization (too highly advanced to be called a gang), Florencia 13, saw the silver chains around his neck and decided to rob him. Arroyos told his girlfriend to run. Shots rang out, at least one hit Arroyos, and he died on the way to the hospital.

On Thursday, a 70-year-old nurse was attacked by a transient, right in front of Union Station, as she was waiting for a bus. (Public transport is often dangerous for people who work in downtown L.A.) She died in the hospital four days later.

Later that day, in a fashionable neighborhood in L.A. — in fact, the location of the mayor's mansion — a lovely young woman and recent college grad, Brianna Kupfer, was working in a design store on the busy main street, when a man walked in and for some inexplicable reason stabbed her to death. Just a fluke, the usual reassuring lie?

As Los Angeles slips down the slope to full chaos, here’s the good news: Mayor Garcetti will feel right at home as Biden’s envoy to India.

Sheriff Villanueva needs to talk to Joe Arpaio about tent camps. Change the laws to a year in jail for vagrancy, then take them out to the desert & park them. Get them help for drug issues, or find family members willing to take them back & help them when the sentence runs out. That at least takes care of the homeless problem for a while.

Living here in Shythole County there’s only 1 thing that will change anything and that is to break LA County into many new Counties. It’s a a megashythole and it’s span of control goes out to Antelope Valley down to OC. It’s too fng big and you have zero chance to make any difference.

I would not be offended if you added Atlanta to this list. I don’t care to ever enter the city limits again.

oh come on. think of what Giuliani did with a corrupt insane NYC. the LAPD did a magnificent job tracking down the East Coast murdered in a few days - what we need here is to throw out the insane Leftie prosecutors to start. and we have Gascon coming up for another recall attempt.

"We might want to re-inhabtate before a thousand years."

That depends on who is in charge of the country a thousand years from now.

Why fight?

White liberal ‘elites’ and their pets hate red state people as much as we hate blue state people. Just get a divorce. There’s no reason to fight.

If they agree to the split up the very next day they can ban ALL guns and instantly have zero crime. A dream come true for the delusional... And if there were any ‘criminals’ they could just let them loose - no need for bail OR a court system. Criminals are victims and need the help of social workers, right?

Really cuban - there’s no reason to push the civil war bit... both groups want out.

Yes it is...and it's amazing it took this many years for violent thugs to realize stores where the 'elites' shop have better 'stuff' than say a Walgreens or CVS.

Aside from the fact it's easier - with more reward - to rob an unarmed 'elite' than an old wounded vet walking home alone... or a young mother with a baby in a stroller...

I don’t hate blue state people. In fact, I believe that a LOT of us started out “blue” but our brains matured at around 25 and most of us move to red. The ones that don’t, we call “gray ponytails”.

I agree. I figure LA is about 2/3 of the way to Blade Runner or Escape from LA.

Then you would agree it makes more sense to negotiate a divorce than risk a civil war. I like liberals too if I don’t have to live under their choices...or in their hellholes.

And I know they don’t want to live in our states under our choices and rules.

So end it. Peacefully.

Differences are irreconcilable. Both groups should be able to live in countries they love.

Los Angeles does not mean lost Angels it is Spanish for The Angels. The Spanish had missions at the location of what would be LA since the 1700s
