I have always respected Ben Carson. I don’t agree with everything that comes out of his mouth, but I can say the same of Trump, Reagan, or Winston Churchill.
Okay, maybe not Churchill...:)
I was so disappointed when I heard Carson was running for President. I just never really saw him as a politician, and certainly not President...I knew that wasn’t going to turn out well. No knock on him, it is a coat that just would never fit him, IMO.
And he is spot on about masks.

He might’ve done fine as POTUS, or maybe not. Trump did make a mistake by appointing him to HUD. He would’ve been better as Surgeon General, especially in light of CCCP Flu.
Jerome Adams wasn’t impressive during Trump’s term. Recently, though, he’s spoken against the CDC guidelines and that’s a good thing.
I preferred him.
He was a master head neurosurgeon. He was a natural leader that people simply followed by sheer respect, and command he had of the issues. So said a family friend who is still a nurse at Hopkins.
And he fixed my nephew’s head even while showing his great humility and confidence to my sister and mother.
I said back then, people mistake bloviating bluster loudness for leadership, while dissing Carson because he was quiet and measured.
Washington was likewise reserved and quiet, but commanding. He was the greatest, and didn’t need to bluster and publicly complain about people. With that example and knowing something of his character, I didn’t really doubt Carson could handle this.
