Sure if they want the global malaise to get worse. Recall the FDR administration. They did everything to make the Great Depression worse.

So should governments consider setting the price of essential goods?Absolutely! The ensuing disaster could be Biden’s greatest achievement!

If you have fifty pounds to lose this a great idea. You won’t have much food and will be walking everywhere.

How about government controlling what non vaxed people can do and whether they can leave their homes.
Controlling all workplaces based on vax proof, then possible membership in domestic terrorist groups (attended teacher meeting at local school, registered Republican, had suspicious searches on Google and unusual emails questioning authority).
Controlling use of their non EV and non self driving vehicle
by taking away their car.
Controlling and curtailing freedom of speech, expression, assembly and religious rites if these conflict with the government.
Have I forgotten anything?

If it is deemed desirable to exacerbate food shortages then the Government should control food prices.

Price controls work...for about a month or so. Then it’s yes, we have no bananas. We have no bananas today.

If the feds pull out all the federal excise taxes on transport, storage and delivery of food and pull out all the federal transportation taxes on trucks and diesel fuel. That could have a positive effect as long as producers, transporters and retailers actually reduced the prices accordingly.
The libs can just use the same ridiculous logic as with everything else, 'let the rich pay for it'
