Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a once-loyal member of Donald Trump's court, is refusing to bend a knee to the former president and says backing him in the 2024 election 'is too much to ask' after Trump publicly attacked his character, according to a report.
Trump reportedly said the popular governor has 'no personal charisma' and a 'dull personality' as rumors swirl the ex-president is angry DeSantis hasn't declined to challenge him for the GOP presidential nomination.
DeSantis, however, has told his inner circle that Trump's 'expectation that he bend the knee is asking too much,' the New York Times reported.
The governor blasted back at Trump's criticisms, accusing the ex-president of being 'uncharacteristically out of step with the hard-line elements of his party's base'.
Sources close to the former president who have recently talked to him about the governor said Trump has grown increasingly irked by DeSantis in recent months, with Trump beginning to voice his frustrations to those in his inner circle.
The Florida governor is extremely popular in Republican circles, and is widely seen as a leader who can push policies popularized by Trump, but without the same level of drama or baggage.

DeSantis is making great decisions, and really stepping out on protecting the people of Florida. If anything, Trump may be out of line here.

President Trump could fed the hungry and houses the homeless. An unnamed source would say that President got mad and complained that they were eating ham instead of bologna and living in a 1BR apartment instead of a studio.

Trump attacked DeSantis. We’ve all praised DeSantis for having a degree of fighting spirit... do we now think he should lay down for this?

You fell for it. Where was Trump’s harsh criticism? Someone at far-left Axios claimed he said Ron was dull. That’s not breaking a commandment.
Axios is claiming it was from an unnamed source, so we all know what that means!
My first thought is that Donald Trump is too smart to say something so stupid. But then I think about many of his picks.
Can you point to where Trump actually attacked DeSantis?

This is, IMHO, just more of the same LIEberal shit-stirring they are fond of using to create discord and dissension!
Take a look at Florida. It’s the most MAGA state in the union. I’m not a personality guy one way or the other. I’ll support whoever seems most likely to successfully implement MAGA. One year after Trump left office his attempt to MAGA has evaporated. Nothing left but good work at the VA. I think DeSantis has a better chance at MAGA than Trump. Trump’s vaxx will end his political career if he actually still wants one.
