The FBI has been corrupt for decades The FBI was BORN with corruption. The entire idea was to be as lawless as the gangsters they were pursuing. J Edgar Hoover used illegally-collected information as blackmail against his political foes, and he was Bureau Chief from 1924 to 1972... an unheard-of and unacceptably-long tenure for any director.

Look, the FBI has IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO like checking out nooses at NASCAR, running down 'domestic terrorists' at middle school PTA meetings, and tracking down every person who attempted in insurrection using flagpoles as their only weapon....

Look Liz - the FBI has MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO than checking out a known international terrorist - things like investigating nooses at NASCAR, running down 'domestic terrorists' at middle school PTA meetings, and tracking down every person who attempted in insurrection using flagpoles as their only weapon... (I mean who the hell chooses flagpoles as weapon of choice to take over a government?)
