Question: How many airplane accidents have occurred as a result of cell phone usage on said airplanes?
Answer: Absolutely NONE!
The FAA is simply overstepping their authority and cementing their absolute control!
This sounds nuts. Are they telling us that the brakes are not hard wired? They use radio signals?
So it’s a question of better insulating the cables/wires?
Odd since 5G is supposed to be up in the mid 20 GHz and even low 30 GHz range while radar altimeters are in the mid 4 GHz range. Harmonics? Although some low-budget 5G is somewhere below 6 GHz...
Well, the last thing we want to do is confuse the software on a fly by wire aircraft... I was talking to my buddy (the former AF fighter pilot) about F-16 flight control sensitivity just the other day. He mentioned back when he was flying it there were several modes - normal flight, landing, and a "just do what I say" mode where the computer no-longer tried to help you by limiting control inputs. Methinks any fly-by-wire system needs that "don't help me" mode for when the help gets confused.
Only airports where there are landings. No worries whatsover when you depart one.
I don’t think they have pay phones inside security at DFW these days. I don’t recall if there are any in the luggage areas or not. They used to have banks of GTE pay phones (not Bell) all over the terminals.
