A Republican candidate for Arizona governor dropped out of the race hours before former President Donald Trump was set to speak at a rally with her top rival.

Kimberly Yee released a statement Saturday saying she will instead run for reelection as state treasurer.

"I am withdrawing from the Governor's race to stand for re-election as Treasurer. There is additional work to be done as the Treasurer of Arizona. As I transition my campaign, I want to thank my supporters and invite them to join me in my re-election efforts for Arizona Treasurer," she said in a tweet. Yee did not endorse any other candidate for governor in her statement.

Yee, who is a former top member of the Arizona State Legislature, was competitive but lagging in the polls behind former television anchor Kari Lake, whom Trump has endorsed for governor.

Lake certainly talks a good talk, like she only wants the job because we need someone who fights the left rather than comprising with them.

I have no knowledge of the situation. But managing for what you “don’t want” takes you no where. What is she fighting for?

IT applies also to us. We need to clearly understand the goals. The goal is not to beat the rats.

Had JFK known that, it’s unlikely he’d have been put on the bench.

I don't know, a conspiracy theory (cough cough!) says that the deep state was in on the assassination of JFK, perhaps because he wouldn't play ball. Sure is taking a long time to get trustworthy info about that....

The Derp State of that era had not much use for Nixon, or they wouldn’t have stood back and let that sex degenerate from High Anus Port steal the ‘60 election. Jack just wanted to build up his own personal Derp State. Then again, some think LBJ was the mastermind to have JFK’s scalp ventilated in Dallas. Such wonderful people.

"It’s not the issue of Pres. Trump’s winning percentage of endorsements, it’s the issue of how many of these people are actually committed to reform and taking down the Derp State instead of becoming a part of that corrupt and evil establishment. It would be curious to go through all his endorsements and see how many were con artists or frauds who went native and stabbed him (and us) in the back."

What did I just say to you? And I said it nicely as well:

"You can only endorse, or fail to endorse, who. actually. runs. Everything else is a failure of every conservative Freeper who failed to put their ass in the wringer."

Did I miss the part of your post where you ran for office as a constitutional conservative? I've scanned your posting history and that does not appear to be so. Too bad, I agree with about 70% of what you post, so you would have had my support just like Trump has to decide who to support, given the absurdly limited options of who. actually. runs. for office, which of these limited options best aligns with MAGA and constitutional conservatism.

But if you really want to go the FRacebooker route, pissing and moaning about Trump's endorsements? I'll give you enough rope to hang yourself. Let's start with Battleground States, 2020 primary elections:

“Road-To-Damascus story”

XD XD Me too.

I have not heard if she has said who she voted for in 2016. But it damn well better have been Trump.

The American people had known Hillary for what, 25 years? All scandal. She has to be the most degenerate politician with the most exposed scandals we have ever laid eyes to. There is no excuse for voting for that person that I could think of.

I said the issue is that some of his endorsements are for individuals that are provably questionable or poor. For these, he is either ill-informed or is being lied to about said candidates. With other individuals, some appear to be quite solid and reliable, only to backstab him (and us) AFTER the fact (see: Jeff Sessions).

As for my running (or not) for office, that’s not germane to the discussion. This is about those that DO.

I’m also not “pissing and moaning”, I brought up the fact that Kari Lake has serious red flags, and they have not been satisfactorily addressed. We ignore these at our own peril (and President Trump’s).

I gave you the 2020 primary endorsements, almost all of whom now have a track record. Let's hear your weak beefing before I post the next round of special election endorsements from the interim, as well as Trump's 2022 endorsements.

C'mon, man up, are you telling us that 2020 group is ok with you? You were "curious to go through all his endorsements and see how many were con artists or frauds who went native and stabbed him (and us) in the back", so let's go. Let's have it.

Who "stabbed him (and us) in the back"? How did they do it? Let's have cites and links.

Of the list you presented for 2020, I would take issue with a few: such as Kay Granger (RINOish, and in for too long in Congress), Bill Hagerty was a concern in my state as he had a lot of RINO Establishment links all over him (fortunately for now, he has proven to be better than I expected), Martha McSally was a very bad choice (though likely she had the Senate race stolen), Jeff Van Drew only got an endorsement due to his party switch, but he’s been a poor left-leaning RINO ever since. The worst of the bunch was Denver Riggleman, who had utter contempt for social Conservatives and when he lost renomination, threatened to run 3rd party to sabotage the GOP (including that for the VA Governorship we just got).

But President Trump has a habit of leaning more towards incumbents than outright challengers, and even with the bulk of these endorsements, few are stand-outs in challenging the corrupt Derp State or status quo.

What has Van Drew done to warrant your criticism.

What has he voted for that would cause your disapproval?

I believe when the ACU releases its voting records for 2021, Van Drew will be at or one of the most left-wing Republicans in the House. He is, to my knowledge, one of the most left-wing Democrats ever to switch to the GOP at the federal level. Most of your prior switchers were somewhere in the range of 80% Conservative or higher. He was at 24% in 2019 and still just 46% in 2020.

The sad part is, the Demonrats have done such a magnificent job with purging their caucus of even center-left people, that Van Drew headed for the hills. In the 1990s, he’d have had maybe 1/3rd of the Dem party made up of his similar voting types. Those are all but gone.

Another aside about Van Drew is that given in 2018 he was the recipient of massive voter fraud by the Dems to steal 4 New Jersey GOP Congressional seats, an actual Republican should be in that seat.
