If that is the case, then why is Fauci’s net worth even a subject? If it’s fair to accuse Fauci, then shouldn’t Malone’s net worth be subject to questioning?

Because Fauci holds a high-level government position paid by taxpayers and is subject to financial disclosure and conflict-of-interest regulations.

Malone is a private citizen who often does contract work for the government at the discretion of (and approval by) people like Fauci. If someone like Malone was hired, it was because the hiring manager (like Fauci) didn't have a conflict-of-interest in doing so.
