Unlike the Jews who unfortunately quietly got onto the trains, we will not.
One of the most chilling things I’ve seen from holocaust footage was the image of a Jewish man politely closing the train door in on himself and his fellow cattle car travelers, to help out the Nazi soldier who couldn’t close the door. He was civilized and had manners and instinctively helped out the Nazi.
But it’s a slippery slope and I don’t blame the Jews one bit. It took a while through the 1930s to get to the cattle car stage. I’m sure as they were given yellow stars and then herded to the ghettos and whatever else Jewish families hoped for the best, and hoped it was the worst to come and that it wouldn’t get worse. . .it was so gradual. It took a decade.
