Why the hard lockdown over a seasonal virus? Xi and his people lie all the time.
China has not said they are locking down for Hanta virus. Nor would that be necessary or effective.
Most likely they are trying to keep Omicron / COVID out of the Olympics. A strong surge there would be a huge black eye for them.
