I was in soviet Red Hampshire during an ice storm some years ago...no power for three days...got down into the 30’s...in the house. That was rough.
Actually, red Hampshire is actually red in all branches of the government.
Republicans took control of them all at the state level last election.
That is most certainly a horse of a different color-if you have no heat, then low temperatures in these regions can be a catastrophe, broken water pipes, cold temps in the house, the whole nine yards.
If there is heat and electricity, there is no reason to cancel school for low temperatures.
If there aren’t, well...they don’t have fireplaces in school houses anymore!
