We had a cold snap in Seattle just after Christmas and did the same thing. (Well, just left the food on the driveway.) I’m already getting a little frost on the racks. I think it might need a new door seal even though it isn’t that old (10 years??)

The 25 year old fridge and freezer still works great.

Keep the old ones as long as possible.

They have a much longer lifespan as the planned obsolescence was not designed for 10-15 years. Plus, they actually worked better and without computer chips or smart anything.

I don’t want to risk any animals getting into the food so it goes in the car..

The bears are in hibernation but deer are still roaming around and we see the hoof prints surprisingly close to the house. I don’t know what other critters would be out and about. Maybe the odd stray cat or dog and I don’t know about raccoons in this kind of weather.
