A pilot was hospitalized after their plane crashed in Pacoima on Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The crash, which occurred shortly after 2 p.m., involved a “small single engine airplane,” which was damaged when it landed on the Metrolink Antelope Valley line train tracks near Whiteman Airport, the LAFD said in a pair of alerts.
The Associated Press identified the plane as a Cessna 172.
After the pilot was removed from the plane by the Los Angeles Police Department, the aircraft was struck by an oncoming train, the LAPD Operations-Valley Bureau said on Twitter.
Wow, what an amazing video.
Of course it was. Union engineers on the train.
The plane landed on the tracks
Here is the Body cam video...they pulled in out just in time (it does show some blood on is face)

Talk about BAD LUCK!
Man talks to cashier at Jack In The Box via Drive Thru mike”
“My plane was just hit by a train!”
Cashier: “Lol! Don’t you hate it when that happens?”
Multi-modal!
This in Southern Caliornia. EVERY airplane crash makes headlines in the MSM (because they don’t like or understand them). In the time since this happened about 2:00 o’clock p.m., there has undoubtedly been equally serious automobile accidents within a ten-mile radius of Whiteman Airport (some perhaps with fatalities) that won’t even get a mention, except fore the inconveniences they cause on the freeway traffic.
The pilot must have an important job to do for the LORD. He escaped death twice in a matter of minutes.
OMG!!!!
That guy needs to thank God when he has the presence of mind to do so.
Talk about getting a second chance.
And kudos to the brave men who rescued him, knowing they were also putting their lives at risk with the oncoming train. True American heroes.
BUT! This IS pretty dadgum damatic video footage!
A pilot was hospitalized after their plane crashed...
Is “THEIR” the new genderless personal pronoun?
It seems to be, I've seen it used quite frequently in news stories lately. Drives me nuts.
Or good luck. 2 more seconds and he Would have been squashed by a train.
It seems they were willing to risk that man being killed instantly upon getting hit by that train had they not got him out in time.
Craziness.
God, I hate uneducated millennial writers who can't grasp the simplest things about the English language. Is he ultra-woke? Following AP Stylebook? Doing his editor's bidding? Or just a plain idiot?
How long before the disagreement between the singular and plural is so mainstreamed and so commonplace that NOBODY in the entire country recognizes it is grammatically incorrect?
How do you explain that to the insurance company?
Planes, trains, and automobiles.
...now a motion picture starring Tom Hanks.
