I had the honor of being a guide historian for about thirty physicians from Johns Hopkins as they toured the battlefields of Shiloh and Corinth. Since I was reared and practiced in the area as a veterinarian I knew many incidents and the history well. This was in 1995. When the topic came to chiggers and ticks our discussion morphed into one about tick related diseases. Veterinarians had been dealing with tick diseases that resulted in ARDs in dogs for decades. In 1995 a veterinarian and physician in Cookeville, Tennessee, identified the same in humans. The physicians on the tour were unaware of ARDs being tick originated and the tour turned into a CE program about tick diseases. These physicians were at the top of their game both in practice and academia and were behind the curve with respect to tick diseases. They were just too busy to keep up with current breaking information and I believe this is the case with physicians with the Coronavirus. I believe in a couple of years when the political influence is omitted that physicians will embrace alternate treatments against the Coronavirus. It is already becoming clear the mRNA is a failure.
