As a home inspector, I see more and more blue state refugees buying houses here in Texas....and usually throwing out bids on average 15% higher than local market value, driving up both home prices and property taxes. But it doesn’t both them relative to where they came from.
The other thing I’m seeing is that their blue state conservative values are highly watered down relative to those native to the red states they’re moving to.
And in the PGAWest area of So Cal, I’m seeing countless numbers of license plates from MN, IL, OR, WA, MA and other blue states. My take is there’s a push to make CA a progressive paradise. My area is safe…for now.
