I think the teachers stopped caring about the children about the same time as the parents, eh?

Chicago is untenable, period.

Teachers love more sitting at home than showing up for in school classes. .....

If Lightfoot doesn’t turn off the money spigot she should be charged with malfeasance.

In most industries, it works like this: Don't work; don't get paid. The Educrat industry is special. They get paid whether they work or not.
Are these results all that surprising?

It’s really a no win for the students in either case. If the teachers stay home the children won’t be taught but they won’t be indoctrinated either, but if the teachers do come in the children won’t be taught and they will be indoctrinated.

The results of this strike will be tens of thousands of illiterate teens

It would be cheaper to buy out the Teachers contracts, with the agreement that they never work for any public school again. Next step would be to hire teachers who actually cared about teaching the students. Finally mandatory school attendance laws would be repealed, schools would be open for those who want to learn.

The results of this strike will be tens of thousands of illiterate teens As opposed to tens of thousands of illiterate teens without the strike.
