Novak Djokovic spent a day confined in an immigration detention hotel waiting for a court ruling and dealing with the prospect of deportation from Australia because of an issue with his visa application relating to COVID-19 vaccination regulations.
The 20-time major champion from Serbia will spend at least another night in immigration detention, probably even the weekend, with his chances of playing in this month's Australian Open in limbo.
With his visa canceled by Australian Border Force officials who rejected his evidence to support a medical exemption from the country's strict COVID-19 vaccination rules, Djokovic had to trade the practice courts for the law courts on Thursday.
Djokovic, 34, has not disclosed whether he is vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Australia sucks, and so does their beer.
One thing that is established with 100% certainty is that being “fully vaccinated” (and also “boosted”) does not stop a person from getting the virus and transmitting the virus.
So what are these regulations for?
Control.
If I were him, I would not have gone there and would have left by now once they started giving him trouble.
For some reason, when I skimmed the headline, I took the word “in” as “as,” and immediately formed the hypothesis that this was a story about a transgender athlete who was going to identify as a woman named “Visa Limbo” while she fights deportation, but will become “Novak Djokovic” as soon as he gets back to Serbia.
Novak is a 20 time Grand Slam Champ. He should get on a plane, tell the Aussies to go Eff off and never play there again.
Probably easier to travel to N. Korea.

This is his change to break the three way tie.
This was dirty tricks on the part of the Aussies. They gave Djokovic an exemption and then revoked it so they could arrest and detain him. Scumbags.
That doesn't mean the government of the country gave him a Visa exemption to come in. It's possible his people filed the application for the wrong Visa. Of course, it would be easy enough for them to resolve it.

Jeremy Chardy: I regret getting vaccinated, I have series of problems now
Former world No. 25 Jeremy Chardy says he has a “series of problems” after taking the COVID-19 vaccine and his 2021 season is over. This summer, 34-year-old Chardy decided to get vaccinated and it didn’t work out well for him.
Chardy, now ranked at No. 73 in the world, claims he is unable to train and play. “Since I got my vaccine [between the Olympics and the US Open], I have a problem, I have a series of problems. As a result, I can’t train, I can’t play.
“At the moment, my season is stopped and I don’t know when I’ll start again.
[...] So now I regret having taken the vaccine, but I couldn’t have known. [...] It’s the first time that the idea that next season might be my last has crossed my mind,” Chardy added.
Slice it however you want all I can say is that Australia has become an authoritarian police state and I can only hope their people tire of this soon enough and overthrow their government.
And with any luck a bunch of their socialist elites will be found dangling at the end of a rope.
“If that evidence is insufficient, then he won’t be treated any different to anyone else and he’ll be on the next plane home,” Morrison said, hiking his thumb in the air for emphasis. “There should be no special rules for Novak Djokovic at all. None whatsoever.”

I'm glad that Djokovic is forcing Australia to live by their insane rules and making them look stupid and useless in the process. This is making Australia looks stupider than usual.
