Yes Finland made it a hard commitment right from the start with Nazi Germany, that they would fight the Soviets only to their former border, only to reclaim what the Soviets had taken.

The Nazis were the only ones with the capability, who were willing to help Finland. There was a famous picture at the time of the Finnish leader with Hitler - the Finn visibly disgusted with him.

The Finns used the Nazis, in much the same way Franco did.

Well Finland saw an opportunity to regain what they had lost.....but the Allied countries were truly angry with Finland for doing so when the world was at war with Nazi Germany invading all over Europe..... Never cared much for the Finland leadership over the years....they will piggy back anything to satisfy themselves.
