It’s far less lethal than previous versions, and its fast spread may finally push us to herd immunity.
Should I try to catch the Omicron variant of Covid to advance the cause of herd immunity?
I’ve had Covid and recovered, had the Regeneron monoclonal antibody infusion, and had the double-jab vaccine—my antibodies are off the charts. With triple protection, I probably won’t catch Omicron. Yet it is spreading like wildfire. Many people with ample antibodies are catching this variant. Importantly, it seldom leads to hospitalization or death.

For more info. Butt ‘they’ will still want vaccines mandated.

This article caught my eye because I had made the same point on FR several weeks ago calling Omicron the most effective (natural) vaccine to Covid. I even (half) joked that Omicron may have been artificially created as a way to vaccinate the unwilling !
anyone have a link behind the paywall?
I got it. Bad for two days. Now it’s like a head cold.
I did lose my sense of taste. And that is weird.
It is beyond pathetic to see people live in such paranoia and fear of a cold virus.
“Should I try to catch the Omicron variant of Covid to advance the cause of herd immunity?”
No, you should not want to get sick. What is wrong with people?
I never thought of that.
I thought it could be God sending it along to thwart the plans of the leftists to try to vax everyone and cut off the reason for keeping us locked down.
Time will tell. Someday we will know the truth.
In the meantime, I am not going to lose sleep over what I cannot control and I will die when the Good Lord decides it’s my time and not one second sooner, no matter what the left tries to inflict on us.
Why not?
Better to have a mild cold than something more serious.
Getting sick is a fact of life. It’s not exactly a matter of wanting to be sick, but to be immune. That’s the point.
My wife and I were recuperating from a very severe auto accident in early December. Finally home for Christmas, we had family and the grandkids over. One had Covid, fever broke this past Saturday…… other than a dry cough, fever, fatigue and loss of smell….. I would classify it as a mid-level flu….. no real biggie….just stay hydrated with Gatorade or Powerade and alternate ibuprofen and acetaminophen every two hours….first noticeable symptoms on Wednesday, fever broke Sunday AM….
My wife and I were on a strict regimen of D3, Zinc and C……for the year and a half prior……
Except that it is the fully jabbed and even boosted that are getting sick.
Had it for about 48 hours, now waiting my time before I can get back to work.
The nurse practitioner who diagnosed me said they have many cases in vaccinated and naturally immune people, but the symptoms were generally mild. She said eventually everyone will get omicron.
Here’s an article on the subject:
“How Omicron Evades Natural Immunity, Vaccination, And Monoclonal Antibody Treatments”
Our household is taking turns with omicron. Our son brought it home from his hospital just before Christmas. My husband got sick a few days later, and I went symptomatic Friday. It’s cruddy, but so far not as bad as a bout with the flu. Low-grade fever for a 24-36 hours, runny nose, congestion, dry cough. Hoping it doesn’t give me laryngitis, which colds typically do. I can feel it creeping in that direction. It seems more like a cold than anything else. We both had earlier variants of COVID and take a range of anti-viral/immune supplements.
“...it could very well be viewed as miraculous providence.”
Not for those of us 72 and over, and with 7 co-morbidities.
Shhhh. We got crapped on for saying this 2 months ago.
It's not just them, but it includes them. We were infected by our vaxxed son, who took the jabs to comply with his work mandate in the hospital. Other members of his department are sick too.
I got an umbrella now.
😨😷💉🐂💨💩💸
Yes, not to mock, but the OhMiGod virus, for the masses. Only way to end the madness is to remove susceptible people from reservoir and exposure.
It may be that the only people to get perpetually sick from Covid are the multiple vaxxed people. That is truly what I expect.
Vaxxed and got Covid twice, most recently over Labor Day weekend. My brother was unvaxxed and got over it in less than a week. I was sick and sickish three days to three weeks and even now no taste, and only occasional smells.
Strange to get a whiff of something and think,oh, great, and then it disappears a minute later. Like your brain canceled the smell.
Salt-is my flavor.
