‘More’ laws usually leads to a decay in trusting the government to do the ‘right’ thing. Romans learned it, and at least a hundred different cultures since then have learned the same thing.
What has the left done in the big cities? Enact law after law and order the police to enforce them.

When black citizens claim they are being "over-policed" they are right. It is due to the layers of laws on laws that Democrats impose on their communities and then use the police for selective enforcement.
Black citizens have lost all faith in the system, so they have abandoned it. We are seeing this among conservatives who are waking up to the corrupt FBI and selective enforcement of laws against those who might oppose the left.
Well, this has been happening in our big cities for decades. Democrats using the power of gov't to destroy anyone who might rise up against their power, regardless of their skin color.
The entire system is untrustworthy and until conservatives realize that many of the complaints by black citizens are legit (improper prosecution, incarceration, detention, harassment, etc) they will always be two small groups opposing the same structure, but accomplishing nothing to topple it.
