These IM injected COVID-19 vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 virus are predominantly designed to produce an IgG and cell mediated responses, preventing viremia and the COVID-19 syndrome. They have been shown to have a high degree of efficacy in humans (70–95%). However, as preclinical studies and as a recent clinical study have shown, they generally provide little protection against viral replication and shedding in the upper airways (38%–49% less likelyhood of passing on the virus compared to unvaccinated people), since such protection requires the presence of a local sIgA immune response."
Continued spread is not a bug, in other words, it's a feature.
Turns out that from a public health standpoint, protecting other people, best thing you can do is refuse to get vaxxed.
