Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that former President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump “twice ” asked him to stop this violence at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Cheney said, “We are learning much more about what former President Trump was doing while the violent assault was underway. The Committee has firsthand testimony now that he was sitting in the dining room next to the Oval Office watching the attack on television as the assault on the Capitol occurred.”

What I saw on TV was more like a guided tour with police talking to people, moving rope shancions, etc. than "violence" until the LEFT murdered Ashli Babbitt.
Trump couldn’t stop what he didn’t start. And did Liz Cheney or any Democrat ever issue a request that BLM stop rioting? No, they supported them and egged them on.
Violent assault?
The only violence that day was done by Capitol Police on unarmed women, and by FBI instigators / Antifa doing some pushing and shoving and breaking some glass.

These people tell lies not realizing all the timeframes are hard documented.
Plus, I'm not sure that Trump going to the media and exaggerating what was going on really would have calmed things down. It could have made things worse. Seeing a president panic isn't likely to make people not panic.
The media would have interpreted a special appearance by the president as a sign that an "insurrection" really was happening and that it needed to be more violently crushed.
What these fools do not know is that no one could have stopped the rioters. That said, President Trump should not have added fuel to the fire by claiming the election was fraudulent. We heard the same type of stuff from the Democrats after Hillary lost. In fact, she probably still believes she won that election. Just like Stacy Abrams thinks the GA election was fraudulent.
