Yeah, I worked grocery retail during the era of full-blown blue laws. Some retailers just covered up merchandise sections prohibited for sale on Sunday. It was weird, but not “bad.” It was the projection of a Christian moral within society at that time. Sundays were seen as more sacred. I long for those times. Look at what we’ve lost since those regulations were all but obliterated.

Sundays were quiet, relaxing. Church, big Sunday dinner, maybe watch a game or go visit Grandma and Grandpa. A day of rest as God commanded, so people were refreshed for the next week of work either out in the world, or at home with the children. I miss that as well.
