I’m not a statistician so I wonder if the fact that some (most) states had little/no reported cases over the holiday weekend would effect the way these numbers get reported?

An unvaccinated sister in California in her 60s is one of the recent latest “cases”.
She got the monoclonal antibody treatment and is now doing fine.
PCR tests will not sunset tomorrow. One test panel from the CDC does.

the tests cant determine between flu and covid, but by golly they know for sure there are more covid cases than ever?

When people are testing multiple times and getting a lot of false positives.. There is no such thing as a symptomless cold or flu.

It is in large part a function of all the tests being done. Combined with seasonal upswing in respiratory virus infections.
The mania for testing is really hurting the people who might actually need treatment, eg monoclonal antibodies.

That’s all they’ve got left to keep THE FEAR going.
And soon they’ll send out hundreds of thousands of “test kits” to find even more “cases.” Especially amongst the people who can’t even tell they have a virus.
What do you want to bet a good portion of those test kits are pre-programmed positive?
If a PCR test can pick up a COVID19 infection you’ve had three months ago, perhaps most of these new “cases” are just an indication of that fact?
Secondly, the current PCR tests are set to be put out of date at the end of 2021.* Could it be possible the government scared people into getting unneeded PCR tests in order to use up what is currently in stock? Maybe?
* A new combination COVID19/Influenza test is approved to come on the market.
To paraphrase the execrable FDR:

Can they even TELL if it’s omicron??
