FWIW, my daughter used to date a cop from upstate South Carolina. He told us that their standing instructions were to let illegals off with a warning because Fedzilla under Obama would make it so difficult and expensive for them otherwise.

This included major traffic violations like DUI where, if it was a local, the car would be impounded and the driver taken to lock-up. IOW, being here illegally was also a license to do certain levels of crime.
