The newly updated CDC guidelines don't require testing at the end of isolation because PCR tests can stay positive for up to 12 weeks, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky told "Good Morning America" Wednesday.
"So we would have people in isolation for a very long time if we were relying on PCRs," Walensky said.
Walensky also addressed Tuesday's news from the FDA that, according to early data, rapid antigen tests may be less sensitive when it comes to the omicron variant.
"We do know that the most sensitive test you can do is a PCR test," Walensky said. "So if you have symptoms and you have a negative antigen test, we do ask you to go and get a PCR to make sure those symptoms are not attributable to COVID."
Walensky said rapid tests do work "quite well," especially in places where people are being tested regularly, like at schools.
"They may not work as well as they have for the delta variant," Walensky said, but "we still are encouraging their use."

The CDC Director is literally saying that those who NEVER HAD COVID SYMPTOMS and who properly isolated for days to prove they didn’t have COVID should not get a PCR test, because PCR tests will show they are COVID positive up to 12 weeks after they isolated without ever having COVID.
This is freaking insane and proves the worthlessness of PCR testing for COVID-19.
I have heard that the Democrats are ratcheting down the bs out of concern for the mid-terms. The pattern, when they get a lot of heat, is to back off, then deny they ever did it.
CDC has pulled the plug on PCR testing, as of 1/1/22. No longer authorized by CDC, as per reports earlier today (Wednesday).

My personal opinion is that there will be none. COVID will now, starting 1/1, quickly ramp down. The Deep State has ridden it as far as it will go. They’ll need a new FEAR to tout, with GlowBull warming failed, its replacement of COVID now also failed.

It’s best to assume no one knows anything. It’s also simpler.

My grown daughter just got tested by her doctor using the new multiple test system. She tested positive for COVID (she has symptoms) and negative for 3 different flu types.
The new test had a number ID, haven’t seen a name for it.

A Chinese study found the same patient could get two different results from the same test on the same day. In Germany, tests are known to have reacted to common cold viruses. A 2006 study found PCR tests for one virus responded to other viruses too. In 2007, a reliance on PCR tests resulted in an “outbreak” of Whooping Cough that never actually existed. Some tests in the US even reacted to the negative control sample.
The late President of Tanzania, John Magufuli, submitted samples goat, pawpaw and motor oil for PCR testing, all came back positive for the virus.
As early as February of 2020 experts were admitting the test was unreliable. Dr Wang Cheng, president of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences told Chinese state television “The accuracy of the tests is only 30-50%”. The Australian government’s own website claimed “There is limited evidence available to assess the accuracy and clinical utility of available COVID-19 tests.” And a Portuguese court ruled that PCR tests were “unreliable” and should not be used for diagnosis.
