My sister took her two kids to get the 1 hour PCR test on Sunday(Since the 16 month old started having fever Friday night) paid 250 bucks a piece for it(To get results within 30 min) both kids came back positive..so what does this all mean, they dont have rona after all? The father got it on the exact same day the 6 yr old started having high fever(Sunday night) 102, 103, the father cant taste or smell anything so I guess its rona

We will remember them in our prayers. Positive tests may or may not indicate actual Coronavirus. Kids are more likely to have a high fever from the flu than Coronavirus. And a cold can cause loss of taste and smell.

One should remember that it is very unusual for people in their 20s and 30s to get very ill from coronavirus unless they are fat and sick from other things. Kids often have no symptoms at all. They should all stay warm, take it easy, eat right and possibly take some multivitamins if their diet is less nutritious than it should be.

The standard epidemiological interpretation is: known +!exposure and + symptoms- a positive test is accurate; known + exposure + symptoms with a neg test probably inaccurate and if there is high rate of transmission in community during that time, EVERYTHING considered positive. That literally is how epidemiologists at department of health interpret

I am of the mind that the taste and smell thing has been around for years, and now that we are told to think of it as the “earliest signs of the tsunami, swarm and surge of the ever expanding grim milestone of this worsening pandemic”, we subconsciously relate them together.
