The Second Amendment is only a valid deterrent, to criminals both private and public, it is USED from time to time.

I don’t agree. Despite living in a blue area, Kyle Rittenhouse dared to say “enough” to the mob in Kenosha. In the red area of Idaho, armed citizens appeared on the streets and discouraged any lawlessness by Antifa or BLM.
The conspiracy of some blue governments to support the lawlessness may make it appear for a while that the law-abiding are helpless. That is an illusion that works to our advantage. The average person knows who is responsible for the damage that has been done.
