Defund Police Backer Brad Lander to Have NYPD Security Detail as Comptroller

Defund as I say, not as I do.

Incoming city Comptroller Brad Lander is taking an NYPD security detail — even though he wants to slash funding for the police department.

When the city passed its annual spending bill in June, the outgoing Brooklyn Democratic councilman said he was “disturbed that this agreement increases the NYPD budget by nearly $200 million and increases headcount at both NYPD and the DOC.” He added, “All neighborhoods need and deserve to be safe, and we must confront rising levels of gun violence. But NYC already has more police officers per capita than nearly every large American city.”

NYC might not need so many police per capita if they would learn to stop selfishly, aggressively battling each other and others mugging and carjacking.

They would have to live like this to reduce police presence:

Union says, kneel, then it is so. If it says kiss the ring of someone who tried to keep you from feeding your family with your career, you do. Then try to a t surprised when the well heeled union overlorads are at one of their 3 homes while you are selling your personal items to survive.
Yes.. i am still mad that scalia died just as he was part of union hearings for scotus.
For those who have never watched the union work. I watched them block shipments of emergent blood for dying hosptal patients. I heard there are some good unions. Just doesn’t square with their forced money grabbing and voting procedures.

No, i was moftified by that. Far beyond mad. But given the prez, was there any hope otherwise. After Kavanaugh, barrett and others turned out to be centrist like the bumpstock bsnning, lockdown imposing, mssk mandating prez they were appointed by, well color me not shocked. And not mad. Color me, tried to tell you.

I hear you. I don't know how anyone expected Gorsuch or Kavanaugh to remotely conservative, given they were disciples of Anthony Kennedy. As protégés, they would be to the left of him.

For the year Gorsuch was on the court with Kennedy, he rled significantly to the left of Kennedy.
