Read Lift Off...the guy is a hands on boss and knows whats going on...Started Space X with his own money 30 million...if the government is going to give you money take it...at least he built something..not like ethanol

The thing is, he's saved NASA and the federal government billions of dollars by doing things for NASA at vastly cheaper prices than they would have cost without Musk/SpaceX.
Without SpaceX, we'd still be begging for rides to the Spacestation on the Russian Soyuz, like we did for 10 years after the Space Shuttle was stopped, and paying a hefty $90 million per passenger per trip.
