The link I sent was FIFA, because that is where most of the collapses/deaths have occurred this year.
There is research in nearly every sport if you take the time to look. And I am talking about cardiac/sudden deaths, not all deaths (football has heat exhaustion, concussions, etc). There is nowhere near the numbers we are seeing this year.
The efforts to play this off as normal by flooding the internet with new “stats” aren’t working. People know what’s normal and what’s not.
Lets review. You said:
"Keep in mind the average for sudden cardiac/unexplained death among athletes is 4-6 per year."When called on this nonsense stat you post the abstract of a study that didn't even try to determine the number of coronary deaths. As the authors state:
Second, they only looked at a subset of FIFA. I don't have the statistic but I'd be surprised if 1% of the world's soccer players are members of FIFA association teams.
Never mind that this also ignores all the other sports - baseball, football, swimming, track & field, etc., etc. etc.
Face it. Your claim is ludicrous and you have absolutely nothing to back it up. Sadly it's also par for the course for too many posts on this website.
