13 million Chinese lockdown in Xian.

That was bad stuff.
Of course most cars didn’t have overdrive ratio back then.
Now I can cruise at 80mph and 2000 rpm.
President Nixon signs national speed limit into law - HISTORYhttps://www.history.com › this-day-in-history › nixon-s...
On January 2, 1974, President Richard M. Nixon signs the Emergency Highway ... signed a federal law lowering all national highway speed limits to 55 mph.
As of 23 December 2021, Johns Hopkins University's “trusted” Coronavirus Resource Center still records “Confirmed Cases” of a mere 113,269, and “Deaths” as 4,849.
https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/region/china
Some Freepers “trusted” Worldometers.info reports something similar.
4,636 “official” deaths in China over the last two years.
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/
Taking the larger tally:
China through 23 months — ( 4,849 deaths since beginning of pandemic / 1,439,323,776 Chinese citizens ) x 100 = 0.0033 %
0.0033 %
So when reading “news” like this, one considers whether the source is to be trusted. Trusted like JHU’s 4,849 death tally for China, or Worldometers’ 4,636 death tally, both in a same range for a nation of 1.4 billion.
“The World is One News is an Indian multinational English language news channel headquartered in New Delhi. It is owned by the Essel Group and is part of the Zee Media network of channels.”
One may be sure the message is “lockdown” — essentially a quarentine of an entire locale or even nation — is a good thing.
The same message came from Imperial College, as from other “trusted” sources like the CDC, and many US state and city governments.
So all one need reflect on is what this “news” and the “official” data from JHU and Worldometer as well as the CDC really tells.
My view is that it tells “cripple your society” with totalitarian measures under the guise of “caring.”
Trust India's WION News? Trust Johns Hopkins? Trust Worldometer? Trust the CDC? Then all the above is trustworthy, as some post in Free Republic threads.
This is why I am skeptical. The data alone shows huge anomalies, inexplicable errors and assertions multiplied by assumptions. And preplanning....
Chinese society has always been focused on a fear of "chaos." The CCP has taken that, and in 70 years, multiplied it 100X and perfected the political art of instilling fear, fake group consciousness, and grudging respect for government authority - backed by an all-controlling police apparatus and iron fist. Many Chinese (like Americans) sheepishly believe its for their own good, and tell themselves that as long as its being applied equally across society, then everyone is suffering equally.
The CCP has painted itself into a political corner though. When can they finally "open" the country? Because when they do, they will likely be faced with a spike in whatever Covid variants are around. Can they then simply ignore it?
Are we going to see another propaganda flood of videos showing people dying in the streets, dead bodies on gurneys in overcrowded hospitals, authorities welding shut apartment doors, and biohazard suited workers chasing down people in the streets and throwing them in vans and then spraying down the area with disinfectant like we did coming up on 2 years ago in Wuhan?
That used to make road tripping a PITA.
Keep in mind, the Climate Panic Cult was telling us oil would run out by the year 2000.
"In Finland, a pilot plant known as Soletair – a joint venture between the Technology Research Centre of Finland VTT and the Lappeenranta University of Technology LUT — has been set up to use hydrogen extracted from water and carbon dioxide captured from air as raw materials to produce hydrocarbons.
"The experimental facility was constructed using three shipping containers and is located on the campus of the Lappeenranta University of Technology in southeast Finland. The process requires a great deal of electricity, so the facility generates its own energy from an on-site solar power plant." Essentially, the final product is a renewable carbon-neutral oil whose usage does not accelerate global warming.

I suspect that the “dead” people got paid an extra bowl of rice for these theatrics.
I bet the lockdown is real. The danger, however, is staged.
The population bomb cult believed that the UK would no longer exist by 2000. Gives a whole new meaning for “you’re always a day away” not intended by Li’l Orphan Annie.
What does “ring to slee” mean?
Oh, “nothing to see”. Not at all how Chinese-accented English sounds, though. Used to play chess against a Chinese kid half my age, who enjoyed demolishing me. I learned nothing about chess except it was not my game at all. But I got the Chinese accent down somewhat. R and L are both W. Japanese confuse and switch them, plus add superfluous vowels because they have a problem with lone consonants. Chinese do not have past tense or future.
“On January 2, 1974, President Richard M. Nixon signs the Emergency Highway ... signed a federal law lowering all national highway speed limits to 55 mph.”
Yes, you might say it was our first Mask Mandate. It might not have saved much fuel, but it certainly made the state lots of money from speeding tickets.
They also always sound like they’re singing when they speak.
Anybody who believes the reports from the Chinese gov’t is crazier than the whackiest Chinese...
“No Ring To Slee Here.”
Nothing to see here.
Oh. Nossing see heaw.
You got it!
