U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn, R-N.C., said Americans should be more focused on pressing issues in the United States like the southern border crisis before worrying about the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

"Instead of being the police force of the world, some people who want to say, 'Oh my goodness, well you know what, there's this terrible border crisis going on in Ukraine and Russia, Vladimir Putin, blah blah,'" Cawthorn said during his speech at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest in Phoenix. "I don't care. I really don't."

Cawthorn also noted the struggles of homeless veterans, many of whom do not receive adequate support and suggested that Americans should put money toward their own country's well-being before sending it to other countries.

Many Republicans and Democrats have insisted on committing American lives and money to securing the borders of other countries while simultaneously ensuring that America’s borders stays wide open.

Only the anti-American traitors among us.

I don’t like war, it is brutal, bloody and lethal - RVN, ‘67-’68, 9th Inf Div, 3/5 Cav - and we should avoid it as best as we can. I am a believer of peace through strength, of projecting the terrible cost for anyone to wage war against us. NATO countries on the European continent need to step up to the plate IF THEY CARE. They have a similar military defense force as the US. It is their backyard, their responsibility. However, with countries like Germany having a fuel pipeline from Russia to Germany, depending on Russia for their energy, I doublt they have the political will to confront Russia.
The Russian / Ukraine conflict should be supported by US military hardware but NO US TROOPS.

Kiev leadership loves that Nato/Us.Europe/ Russia all are involved....they play their hand with them all and the revenue flows into their coffers. Without this Ukraine would be a completely failed state.

Possibly sending weapons to Ukraine has no connection to the US border patrol closing our southern border.

Powerful people in the US government have financial interests in Ukraine which is why the US cares about the Russian/Ukrainian conflict.

Hard to see how you have one without the other. I guess maybe we send half of Lockheed and Ratheyon there instead of our boys to train them. But if only hardware and not people, they’ll do as well as the Afghan army did.

I agree with him. The ukrainians deserve their fait if they can not get their act together as a society.

The Europeans / Ukranians have traded in their horses and goats long ago. They have, and know how to use, most of the military hardware we have. Ukraine and Afghanistan is like apples and oranges.
