Ha! Yep. I think I read somewhere that hole in the ozone has always been there, it shrinks and grows with the flow of nature... no big deal and never was.

Acid rain was dealt with in the 1980s and 1990s. By switching from coal to gas and installing “scrubbers” to clean up power station and factory emissions, huge reductions were made in acid rain pollution in Europe. Catalytic convertors on car exhausts reduced nitrogen oxide emissions.
Acid rain still occurs, but its impact on Europe and North America is far less than it was in the 1970s and ‘80s, because of strong air pollution regulations in those regions. The term acid rain is a popular expression for the more formal and scientific term acid deposition.
