“ By the way, what’s the point of libraries these days anyway?”
Good question, one I ask every time we see a levy increase for public libraries. Here in the Soviet of Washington we fund schools and libraries with property tax revenue.
I have determined there are only 2 reasons public libraries exist.
1st-Patronage. Or maybe a better term, make work project for dim activists.
2nd-Propaganda Centers. Where else can you take your young children to have “fairy tales” read to them by a 400 pound grotesque cross dresser?
Agree - and note that politicians don’t, anymore, threaten to ‘close the libraries’ when they don’t get their tax increases.
They know that people will now call their bluff.
3rd-Homeless shelters during daylight hours.
Well, during winter at least, the local libraries seem to house a lot of homeless people during their open hours.
