THIS is the dramatic moment Russia's £300m stealth warship that was designed to carry hypersonic missiles went up in flames in a humiliating blow for Vladimir Putin.

New footage shows devastating fire damage to the new £307 million warship intended to carry Putin’s lethal Mach-9 hypersonic missiles....

...The scale of the blaze, which started on Friday in St Petersburg, has been viewed as a massive set back to the Kremlin’s naval modernisation programme.

Huge flames and thick smoke were seen rising from the corvette Provornyy at Severnaya Verf shipyard where it was being built.

The battleship was almost completely destroyed by the fire - the latest of a spate of mysterious blazes at top secret naval shipbuilding facilities ...

Windsor IS directly south of Detroit.

To go the long way, one would have to fire to the north....

I wonder if they covered the fire and destruction of a billion dollar US warship that burned to the waterline while docked in Hawaii some months back. Talk about humiliation. The crew had never been trained in fire fighting.

What crew? You mean the "crew" that is half female and that half of them are pregnant, out on maternity leave for six months, or nursing the baby and seeing 10 Navy Docs about why her milk is not flowing enough for young Duante.

I guess if you wanted to shoot yourself in the arse, you could fire it 25,000 miles and not have to move/turn around.

I wasn’t the only one to see the hypocrisy here I see. Don’t forget two US ships colliding with civilian ships costing millions in damage, or the USS Hartford, a nuclear submarine, running aground in Italy resulting in millions in damages and it out of service for years. The Russians have plenty of US Navy incidences with which to shake their fannies at the US.

Just imagine a satellite with laser capabilities, focused on that ship.. Hehehe.. “WITH LASERS” in air quotes said Dr. Evil. Who knows what some of those ultra top secret military satellites are carrying these days.

Sure, but we could lose 20 and be fine.

Russia cannot maintain their fleet and need every ship.

“They are rapidly (in the next five years) approaching the point they won’t even be able to deploy an effective army due to their shockingly fast depopulation according to futurist George Freedman.”

Is anybody fact-checking after the popular propaganda nowadays? Russian population figures are freely available in open sources.

That’s what you get for going to a used-war-ship dealer. “Honest Boris. We do war ships. Yeah. Come buy.” You call that ad copy?

Good heavens! Russian Dreadnoughts do seem to be a bit combustible, don’t they? I’m guessing the author’s mastery of nautical terminology is still a work in progress. On the other hand, if they did pickle off one of those 25,000 mile missiles, that would explain the fire, wouldn’t it?
