“Because UNIONS get a BIG payday in that bill!”
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Zackly.
Also, if you want all those special-interest goodies, (”like an extension of funding to aid victims of black lung disease, tax incentives to urge manufacturers to build new factories and employ ex-miners and protect union workers”), have them brought up in a bill and see if they stand on their own merits.
That’s what I always wonder about. Why does Congress sometimes come up with bills thousands of pages long, which nobody has read? And these bills always allegedly have such great benefits.
I agree with you. Everything in build back better should be voted on individually. Let them make the case for universal pre K, child care subsidies, green new deal etc on their own.
I question why the Democrats decide to try to ram through a Christmas tree full of liberal dreams in the first place. Let’s bring up each issue one by one. If all of these items are so beneficial, then certainly the Congress would approve them one by one. They don’t have to be part of a gigantic piece of legislation to be enacted.
Is black lung still a thing?
