Except there are variant-specific PCR tests.
Given the high cost of sequencing, we have adopted a strategy where we developed a RT PCR test with which we can distinguish samples with the unique mutations of the Omicron variant directly from the RT PCR.

Way I'm seeing it at this point they don't care if the tests are accurate or not or even work, they're being used as cover for corruption and to validate the necessity of the tyranny. That's it. Am not seeing any benevolent purpose behind it.
