I can’t believe the people of WVa keep falling for it.
> I can’t believe how many freepers keep falling for Manchin’s BS. <
I think it’s just a case of “So far, so good.” I’m not about to send Manchin any campaign contributions, or even a Christmas card. But I will applaud him for what he’s done...so far.
He might go all wobbly tomorrow. But that’s true of most any politician.
It would be really sad if the senator backed anything like this bill. The bill was mostly a disaster to America and our economy. Better to just propose its few good or plausible spending projects (maybe a total of ten percent?) in a new bill and be done with it.
Right - that was the GAO’s estimate and maybe that’s what Manchin is basing is rejection on vs what Biden “claims” it is?
CBO has calculated Biden bill at OVER $ 4 Trillion cost.
He might go all wobbly tomorrow.
….really, the reason everyone is excited about Manchin today is that he was the last Unknown vote.
Mitt Romney could change his mind and be the next In Demand Darling. Doesn’t make any of them heroes in my book.
.
It’s not about cost.
Ron Klain pissed of Manchin by portraying him as essentially acting and then folding - as his history. His Ego is hurt.
.
This article is more fake news meant to smear Manchin so they can say he hates poor children.
There are things in this bill that are so far left that even Manchin cannot support them.
He said recently he would be OK at $1.75mm, so close enough for govt work. I wouldn’t be surprised by a deal. Get Manchin on board for $1.8mm, do the rest with EO’s.
Just like that Tulsi chick that freepers keep creepin’ on. Just cause she looks good in a bathing suit.
Maybe I have misunderstood Manchin’s position. I would certainly be totally against the climate change portion of it; not necessarily the portion Manchin was against. Can anybody say what else was in this bill that any sensible person would be unlikely to vote for? This seems to me a good example why proposed bills should include just ONE item. Who would want to vote for a bill that includes both good & bad items? If I would say that some of the misguided folks we have in Congress would do this, then I guess I just answered my own question. One bill, one item would put a stop to some of this & let the decision of each Congressperson be guided by the will of his/her constituents, not their own greediness.
I thought I had read where Manchin’s refusal to sign this phony BBB bill was done on behalf of his cosntituents. If this is not the real reason then I would apologize & try harder to not make the same mistake twice.
