As I am reading more about the story it seems this was at least partly consensual and perhaps fully consensual on the part of the girl. Law enforcement is still investigating but they say she had some lurid and graphic text exchanges with the accused and he essentially promised to do to her what he did do and she quite possibly entered into the arrangement willingly.
What’s in question here is that she’s of diminished mental capacity so her ability to fully consent to the arrangement may end up in the accused facing at least some charges.
Well, she is a college student, so probably not an issue.
It sounds like it started out as consensual. Usually these people have an agreed upon code word for STOP, which he apparently disregarded. It became involuntary on her part at that point.
