"Are people still using coal to heat their homes? Really?" Yes they are, especially if they live near a coal mine. I grew up in a house with a coal furnace. Some people will only eat pizza from a coal-fired oven.

No, just that I haven’t seen a coal chute or a coal fired furnace since I was a little kid in Massachusetts. And the coal furnace I saw had been abandoned in place for an oil fired furnace.
