U.S. to use border wall funds to close gaps and clean up Trump-era construction sites
CBS ^ | 20 December 2021 | CAMILO MONTOYA-GALVEZ

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced Monday it will use border security funding allocated by Congress to close wall gaps and pay for environmental and clean-up projects in areas of Arizona, California and Texas affected by barrier construction undertaken by the Trump administration.

The projects authorized... include installing drainage to prevent flooding, mitigating soil erosion, completing roads used by Border Patrol agents, demobilizing construction and equipment storage sites and discarding unused materials.

Mayorkas also authorized U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to erect barriers to close "small" gaps along some wall sections that were left open when construction was brought to a halt in January, saying the measures are necessary to mitigate safety concerns.

There will be several places where barrier material will be used," a senior CBP official told CBS News. "We would say that that's existing barrier right there that we are addressing, like an open, unsafe construction situation, versus adding additional mileage, which would be adding new barrier."

The work will also include fixing and completing wall gates...

nothing like some Trump-shaming to get the government into gear. Even if the headline is snippy about it.

It gives them plausible deniability now that every terrorist imaginable has come over the border.

There’s millions of $$ worth of unused material lying in storage yards, but they refused the contractor permission to sell any of it to Texas.

Discarding building materials? That could be a crime. They are supposed to go back into government warehouses or be put up for public sale by the GSA.

Time full the Republicans in Congress to raise bell about this waste of taxpayers money.

discarding unused materials.

They are going to poison the well and make sure that Texas does not plug the hole in the border. May be the public can buy the material as salvage and give it back to Texas.

I so despise these Evil B_tards.

Putting a couple of gates up and funding the usual NGO-takeover organizations, I take it.

Cleanup the “Trump era construction sites.” HORSE SH*T! Who is cleaning up the REAL MESS left by the freeloading invaders? Sh*tty diapers and condoms EVERYWHERE. Mayorkas is a freeloading pig.

Sell? If it's already paid for, Texas needs to just go get it. While they're at it, they can go get the 30 million left laying on the ground in AZ.

Mayorkas himself is an illegal. He is a Mexican anchor baby who will be deported (or worse) within the next 5 years.

My policy would be to deport every single current illegal AND anchor baby born to illegal parents going back 100 years. So if any of your parents, grand parents or great grand parents came here as illegals, then you will deported or banished (to Devil’s island for all I care). The only way you can stay is if you can prove you are a MAGA patriot in good standing. Take it or leave it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They had much rather throw it away than give/sell it to red Texas to defend red Texans from the heathen hordes. “That’ll larn those patriotic Texans a thing or two!”
By the way, I’m wondering if any other red state’s governments are pitching in to help Texas build the wall and if not, why not? It’s not like it would only protect Texas.
The USSC said states can seize property under eminent domain for economic gain. Texas can take what it needs.
It’s here in The Lone Star State, it’s been here long enough to become, likely legally (I’d have to look up the actual Texas law), state property. Thus, Governor Abbott should begin using this Blessed SOH (stock on hand) and begin moving it into place to complete Texas’ Border Wall.
The regime has got themselves so wrapped around a tree like a spooked horse on a long lead rope, so upside-down crazed busy and mad out of their skulls with confusion and fear, what are they going to do? Send their dumb-butt dipwad kooky headed ‘storm troops’ down here to stop us?
It’s high time to make a stand, with prayers on bent knees before The Lord God our Mighty Warrior and Protector, to do what is time to do and secure the Texas Southern Border.
Dear Lord Jesus, guide and protect all who labor to complete this task, from all attack both foreign and domestic. Amen!
God Bless the Great State of Texas!
I'm sure some relative or close friend will be paid to remove the “debris” so it will be perfectly legal..../s
Texas should just take the wall material. Who will stop them? The US Army? Those woke bastards in the Pentagon won’t go near the border.
