With hospitalizations and a rapid rise in new coronavirus cases being driven by a surge of the Omicron variant, London’s mayor on Saturday declared a “major incident” — or emergency — for the first time since January.
The declaration sets up special coordination procedures and indicates that emergency services and hospitals cannot guarantee their normal level of response.
The move came as the number of patients in London hospitals increased 29 percent over the last week. The city has confirmed 65,525 new cases in the last week and 26,418 cases in the last day, the highest number since the start of the pandemic, Mayor Sadiq Khan’s office said in a statement on Saturday. The Greater London area has seen cases rise by nearly 200 percent over the last two weeks, making it the hardest hit area of Britain.

Haha in London they were trying to destroy an Apple store because they thought Bill Gates created Apple. 😂😂😂
Very few. This is just drama. One death in the whole world.
And Omicron does not enter the lungs but stays in the throat causing, sometimes, bronchitis. Whoopie.
Much ado about nothing. The south Africans keep trying to tell the world that their hospitalizations dropped 91% with Omicron.
Almost no one in charge listening.

Yes. Exactly. Omicron is no biggie and yet all the lock downs etc. As soon as it quickly sends delta packing, as it did in South Africa...nothing.
If those people are covid, it is the dying remnants of delta still hanging out. But not for long.

They have slowly but surely over the last year and a half, changed the reporting from deaths from Covid, to deaths with Covid, to Covid hospitalizations, to Covid cases, to tested positive to try to make it sound as if the “pandemic” were still as serious as it was (which was not much) as it was at the beginning of this all.
They are counting on people not noticing the subtle shift in rhetoric and narrative.
And mostly they were right.
That’s not enough. It is something else. Bigger. With Omicron hospitalizations in South Africa dropped 91%, because it overrides delta and is much more wild.
Yet Europe is acting like omicron is Satan himself.

I was wrong. There were some covid deaths in South Africa. Maybe from omicron or maybe the last dying gasps from delta.
Mild, not wild.
no mass deaths, no information on hospitalizations just lockdowns, keep vaxxing, wear you masks and social distance
PROFESSOR CARL HENEGHAN: I'm a GP on the frontline, and I don't think we're overwhelmed with Covid
Or maybe MVAs.
Homicides.
Old age.
Who the heck knows since we can’t trust anyone’s stats.
That’s the fricking problem.
An early-posted question to Tipllub wanted to know about hospitalizations. Why not deaths? Because "deaths" officially are not the central focus if the narrative.
Here's the UK data:
Sources: Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Center

Worldometer -- population (2021)
https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/population-by-country/
( 147,634 "officially" dead "from" and "with" / 67,886,011 population ) x 100 = 0.217 %
Less than one quarter of one percent over about two years time.
This is why scary graphs and screaming headlines predominate.
Looking too closely upsets the panic. And the politics.
somehow my last line got shortened. should have been -
ask most people and they probably think the thousands of “cases” are all omicron.
