Ex-FDA officials, medical experts flog feds for politicizing COVID, misrepresenting evidence

"If the last administration did this, all experts would be outraged," tweeted University of California San Francisco medical professor Vinay Prasad.

The federal agencies in charge of COVID-19 response are taking hits from former officials and high-profile medical professors for "sidelining experts," not conducting basic research, and mischaracterizing evidence related to vaccines and masks for young people.

The Biden administration is getting a pass for "extreme political pressure" that "appropriately" prompted outrage against its predecessor, two FDA alumni wrote in The Washington Post Thursday.

Former Office of Vaccines Research and Review Deputy Director Philip Krause and former acting Chief Scientist Luciana Borio protested three recent actions authorizing boosters for people as young as 16.

"Before last month, the standard practice was for the agencies to convene standing outside advisory committees, whose members inspect the relevant data, debate it and vote," they wrote. Earlier debates and votes suggest that "at least some experts would probably have voiced opposition," and the refusal to hear them out "could hurt the credibility of these agencies."

FWIW- I know more people in the FDA than any person not in the FDA should even know. These folks span the political spectrum, although, admittedly, the ones I know the best tend to be on our side.
That being said, I can’t think of another group of folks more unified in vax skepticism and COVID “denial” that I know.
They KNOW something we “know”.

I no longer believe a single word that comes from our government or 90% of what passes for “the press”. And I’m not alone.

That’s not good for a civil society.

Omicron forces wave of closures nationwide as Biden warns:

Winter of 'death' encroaching!

The omicron variant is touching every corner of American lives, with many schools and businesses making operational changes!:

Dr. Siegel says vaccines should provide protection from new coronavirus variants Fox News medical contributor Dr. Marc Siegel provides insight on the new omicron coronavirus variant.

As the omicron variant of the coronavirus is poised to become the new leading variant in the United States, many schools and businesses are closing their doors over what President Biden is predicting to be a winter of "severe illness and death."

President Biden has previously claimed he would "shut down the virus," and added he would not "shut down the economy" or "shut down the country." Biden is set to speak to the country on Tuesday to outline additional steps he will take to combat the spread of the virus.

Across the country, schools are beginning to shift to remote learning, restaurants are closing their doors to the public, and events are once again being canceled as a result of the new omicron variant of the coronavirus.

Several colleges and universities such as Harvard University and Stanford University have announced they will begin the spring 2022 semester with remote learning for most students. Pennsylvania State University announced on Friday that students should "be prepared to alter plans" if the university needs to start the spring semester remotely.

Georgetown University, for example, is restricting all indoor campus dining to a "grab-and-go" model, where students pick up their food in a dining hall and eat in their private room. The university is also closing fitness centers, and has canceled all events if they cannot be held outdoors or online.

Or the medical establishment, either. They’ve gone so all-in with the administration that they’ve lost all credibility, too.

“Or the medical establishment, either.”

Yes, that’s a real tragedy. When politics and medicine are mixed politics wins every time.

It’s funny that he thinks any of these agencies have any credibility left.

That’s not good for a civil society.

I work in Federal Law Enforcement, and with the hijinks the FBI has pulled, along with the outright lies and monkeyshines the FDA, CDC, IRS, and so many others have hoisted upon the American people, I don't believe much of what I hear/am told either.

I will say, as a person, and this applies to the overwhelming majority of my co-workers, who simply wants to go to work everyday and protect other people from harm, so they can produce for Our Great Nation, the undermining of our legitimacy makes our job SO MUCH HARDER!
